Inside the Real Estate of the Kardashian-Jenner Clan
Not too long ago, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (once known as Kimye) purchased a house in Hidden Hills, Los Angeles, and transformed it into a strange, brutalist mansion. But their love wasn't made to last. Kim and Kanye are now divorced, and Kim kept the Hidden Hills estate.
Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, Kris and Kourtney. There are a lot of Kardashian-Jenner family members, and boy, do they own a lot of houses. Some of them can be seen in glimpses on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and will be seen in "The Kardashians" on Hulu, but some of them won't.
We scoured the internet, Twitter and Instagram to bring you the best photos of their homes that we could find.
Kim's Minimalistic Mansion
Location: Hidden Hills, Los Angeles
Price: $20 million
Date purchased: August 2014
Size: 15,667 square feet
Amenities: Two swimming pools, two vineyards, two spas, two barbecue centers, rose garden, motor court and a sunken place
The Exterior
The deets: Kim and Kanye bought this eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom spread in 2014. This was their primary place to live when the couple was still going strong. Today, it's Kim's place and looks very much the same.
According to Variety, this mansion was a new build constructed on the grounds of Lisa Marie Presley’s former house.
The Master Bathroom
The house has been renovated and redesigned by architect Axel Vervoordt and is ultra minimalistic, as can be seen in the few public glimpses that Kim and Kanye allowed when they were together.
It’s so minimalist to the point of being unsettling. The main bathroom is very sparse.
Posing in the Minimalistic Bathroom
In an interview, Kim told Architectural Digest that the bathroom is fantastic for selfies because the lighting "smooths out all cellulite... it’s so cool — the whole ceiling is just one giant light."
The Strange Sink
Then there’s this bathroom sink, which caused a whole bunch of confusion when people on the internet noticed Kim and Kanye had a weird way to wash their hands.
It’s a double sink on an island with no basin. Instead, the counter dips slightly around a tiny slit for drainage.
It was custom designed by Kanye, Vervoordt, and architect Claudio Silvestrin.
"You can put it on as high as you want and no backsplash will come up," Kim explained in an Instagram video.
Kim's Closet
The closet is predictably gigantic, with rows of shelves to display Kim’s insane number of purses, shoes and accessories.
And this is just a peek into one part of it.
The Kitchen
In this screenshot, taken from a "Vogue" interview, you can see the very, very large kitchen, but it's devoid of homey knickknacks. It looks almost like a staged property.
The Family Room
Just off the kitchen is the family room, with a massive wall-sized TV. While the main rooms are off-white, Kim allows kids to be themselves in their bedrooms, which she says are colorful and themed.
"I have the playroom filled with clutter. Bedrooms: One is pink, one is purple, one is blue, one is dinosaurs. Each kid can have their full style and taste in their bedroom and have so much fun. Shockingly, four kids hasn't messed up my cream house."
A Sparse Living Room
This living room has only a wood piano, coffee table and a chair or two. Like the kitchen, there are no personalized objects of any kind.
The Master Bedroom's Sitting Area
In keeping with the monochrome look of the home's common areas, Kim's bedroom is also one color.
In a Vogue interview, she revealed this is where she completes scrapbooks for her kids and keeps her own trunk of memories from her childhood.
Kylie Jenner: Her $36.5 Million Masterpiece
Location: Holmby Hills, Los Angeles
Price: $36.5 million
Date purchased: 2020
Size: 15,350 square feet
Amenities: Outdoor projection screen, indoor/outdoor living, courtyard pool, sports court
A Very Open House
Kylie Jenner picked up this home for $36.5 million in late April 2020. The 15,350-square-foot mansion is a brand-new spec house that was built in 2019.
It’s an ultra-modern single-floor plan that is fully open to the interior courtyard.
It has seven bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, for a bedroom-to-bathroom ratio of 2:1.
Indoor/Outdoor Living
The biggest feature of this mansion is its design. Each of the rooms has a sliding wall, likely glass, which opens up to the outside, allowing for some true indoor/outdoor living.
This living area and kitchen feature a herringbone-patterned wall that houses a built-in TV area — only one size can fit here.
A Bargain at $20 Million Off
The house originally listed for $55 million in August 2019, but sat on the market for four months until a price reduction to $49.5 million.
Again, there were no buyers, so the sellers slashed the listing price to $46 million, and then Kylie picked it up for $10 million less than that.
The Bar and Theater
The game room and bar has three inset televisions, two chandeliers, and one interesting feature: a huge glass door that opens to the theater.
It can act as a huge screen to watch when playing pool if Kylie doesn't feel like settling down for a movie.
The Dining Room
This dining room has a large wood table with seating for 10 people — 12 if you count two for the loveseat-sized chairs at both ends.
When it’s daytime, there’s no need for lights, but at night, the home is lit by square-shaped recessed lighting and a leaf-like, circular chandelier.
Made for Entertaining
The house is clearly made for entertaining and has multiple places to play games and lounge.
The home is listed at 15,350 square feet, but that’s only including the air-conditioned part. Including the non-air-conditioned areas which are under the roof, the home has 19,250 square feet of space.
We wonder: Did it come fully furnished?
The Sports Court
Right near the main courtyard, past the palm tree, is a full sports court set up for pickleball.
The projection screen can be seen from this angle. It’s massive, so Kylie can watch TV, swim and play whatever sport she wants.
Room for Guests and Guards
In addition to the main home, the estate has two guest apartments with kitchenettes and a living room, two guest suites with private patios and separate entrances, and a guardhouse with a full bath and kitchen.
There are a total of 12 fireplaces and enough parking for 20 cars.
An Expensive Investment
While Holmby Hills is a playground for the wealthy, this is one of the most expensive homes in the area.
At $36.5 million, it’s 780 percent more expensive than other nearby properties that are for sale, according to realtor.com.
With its 15,340 square footage, the house clocks in at $2,378 per square feet.
Kylie Jenner: Powerfully Pink
Location: Hidden Hills, Los Angeles
Price: $12 million
Date purchased: 2016
Size: 13,200 square feet
Amenities: Gym, pools, six-car garage, home theater, wine room, oodles of art, massage and hairdressing areas
The Bedroom Is Full of Pink
The deets: The youngest and richest of the Jenner-Kardashian clan has the boldest house. Kylie’s eight-bedroom, eleven-bathroom home keeps the black-and-white aesthetics but adds pops of color — specifically, pink — to the mix.
In Architectural Digest’s feature of Kylie’s Hidden Hills abode, designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard notes that the 22-year-old "feels a deep connection to Marilyn Monroe, so we placed a series of Warhol screen prints of Marilyn along the main stairway." The billionaire model and makeup mogul wasn’t old enough to drink when she began with the home’s redesign.
"I love pink, and I wanted a lot of it!" Kylie said. Her bedroom is saturated with a pink glow.
Kylie's Closet
"My closets and glam room are very personal to me, even down to the size of each drawer, so they fit my specific products and clothes," Kylie told Architectural Digest.
"I spend a lot of time in those rooms, so we had to make sure they were perfect."
A Living Room, With Wine Rack
This photo shows a glimpse into the main living area of Kylie’s house. It has a built-in wine rack under the stairs, post-modern glass railing and numerous family photos in white frames.
Kylie Jenner's Bathroom
Kylie's bathroom has checkered black-and-white marble tile.
Kylie's Cars and Driveway
With an estimated net worth of $1 billion, the motor court can, and does, park a lot of very expensive cars.
Kylie's Kitchen and Kid
A peek into Kylie's kitchen from her YouTube channel. In this festive photo, Kylie is cooking Christmas cookies with her daughter, Stormi.
The kitchen has a huge stove like Kourtney's. The counters are marble as is the wall-length backsplash.
Kendall Jenner: Mulholland Mansion
Location: Beverly Hills, California
Price: $8.55 million
Date purchased: October 2017
Size: 6,625 square feet
Amenities: Spanish-style house with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, movie theater, pool, fire pit, full-sized playground, interior courtyard
The Former House of Charlie Sheen
The deets: Kendall bought this six-bedroom mansion in 2017, much to Kim’s chagrin.
Unnamed sources in the ever-turning rumor mill surrounding the Kardashians said that Kim disapproved of the property because it used to belong to Charlie Sheen.
As a result, Kendall said she would do a total overhaul to cleanse the estate of whatever bad juju Sheen may have left behind.
Before the Renovation
Those rumors were somewhat validated when Kendall completed a renovation the following year.
Not much has been shown of the estate’s facelift aside from spare photos and vids that the 24-year-old has posted to her Instagram, although you can compare these before-and-after snapshots.
After the Renovation
The living room has lost some of its Spanish-style. It’s been renovated and furnished into a more modern, black-and-white space.
Kourtney Kardashian: Calabasas Comfort
Location: Calabasas, California
Price: $7.45 million
Date purchased: 2016
Size: 11,746 square feet
Amenities: Tuscan-style estate decked out with modern works of art and a massive limestone-floored kitchen
A Room Full of Windows
The deets: The eldest Kardashian sister purchased this Calabasas-based Tuscan spread in 2016 from retired NFL Pro Bowler Keyshawn Johnson.
She hired decorator-to-the-stars Martyn Lawrence Bullard to outfit the place for all of her needs, which mainly included making the house comfy and kid-friendly for her three children, Mason, Penelope and Reign.
Kourtney's Kitchen
With two spacious islands and a large stainless steel range, this kitchen looks like a wonderful place to cook.
The Huge Stove
The kitchen has a stainless steel, 10-burner stove.
Instead of a lot of smaller drawers, she has opted for fewer, larger ones.
The rustic tile flooring is a nice touch.
A Place to Play Piano
The living room includes Kourtney’s grand piano, which she has owned since childhood.
She’s now teaching her kids to play on it.
A Classic Bathroom
Kourtney outfitted this powder room with classic touches.
The brass hardware pairs well with the brass-framed, wall-length mirror and vintage chandelier.
Classy, not flashy.
Christmas Themes
Kourtney held the family Christmas party at her place in 2019.
This is a view into the house from a vine-laced entrance, where an upside-down tree hangs in front of a fireplace.
Kourtney's Bedroom
A peek into Kourtney's bedroom, which includes a modern gas-burning fireplace with a herringbone-patterned backsplash.
Sharing a Few Homes with Travis Barker
Since Kourtney married the Blink 182 drummer, her real estate portfolio has greatly increased. Travis's home is in the same gated Calabasas community as his wife's.
The couple also purchased a $12 million desert vacation home in Palm Springs as well as Conan O' Brien's former beach house in Carpinteria.
Kris Jenner: Momager Next Door
Location: Hidden Hills, Los Angeles
Price: $9.925 million
Date purchased: December 2017
Size: 9,400 square feet
Amenities: Six-bedroom house with a huge open floor plan kitchen, home theater, floating staircase, modern works of art and walnut flooring on 1.28 acres
Kris' Kitchen
The deets: It looks like Kris Jenner may have moved from her main pad to a house that is just a mile down the road and right next to Kim and Kanye’s mega-mansion.
Kris bought this six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home in late 2017.
Kris' Living Room
Kris made a point to tell Architectural Digest that the first floor of her new home makes her feel calm, probably because the 64-year-old mother of six can’t seem to stop working.
Khloe Kardashian: Better Than Bieber
Location: Hidden Hills, Los Angeles
Price: $7.2 million
Date purchased: 2014
Size: 9,214 square feet
Amenities: Six fireplaces, 200-bottle wine cellar, two garages, meadow views, home theater with stadium seating
The Ivy-Covered Courtyard
The deets: Justin Bieber made a tidy $700,000 profit after selling this house to Khloe in 2014, shortly after the reality TV star divorced NBA baller Lamar Odom.
The home has a stunning courtyard with a fireplace.
Watching the Ex Play
Like much of the Kardashian-Jenner clan’s dwellings, the house is decorated white and black with a minimalistic design.
This photo is from 2017 and features her (being filmed) while watching a Cleveland Cavaliers game as her then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson played.
The two broke up in 2019, with Khloe saying that he cheated while she was pregnant with their child.
A Vintage Look
Here, Khloe gives a rare look into her home. She's posing in front of an antique mirror, which reflects a breakfast nook near bow windows.
A Full Bar
The bar is well stocked, although not with any particularly expensive booze, save for the Johnny Walker Blue Label.
Views From the Pool
A view from Khloe's pool in the backyard, taken from 2016 during the California wildfires.
Smoke can be seen in the background.
Kris Jenner (and Rob Kardashian): Keeping Up in Hidden Hills
Location: Hidden Hills, Los Angeles
Price: $4 million
Date purchased: 2010
Size: 8,860 square feet
Amenities: Six-bedroom, eight-bathroom house with a butterfly staircase grand entryway
A Place to Watch "The Kardashians"
The deets: Fans of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" will recognize the interior of this house, which is a key filming location for the show. Not so much the facade, though — for security reasons, the show used a different house for those exterior shots (more on that in a second).
Rumor has it that Rob moved back home with his mom after she sold his starter home in 2017.
Kim's Former Brutalist Condo
Location: Calabasas, California
Price: $3.5 million
Date purchased: August 2017
Size: 2,260 square feet
Amenities: Three-bedroom, four-bedroom condo that has been specifically designed to meet Kim and Kanye’s ridiculously minimalistic tastes
Home or Prison?
The deets: Kim and Kanye bought this condo for $1.6 million in August 2017, but they weren’t going to live in any old million-dollar condo.
The couple enlisted the help of architect Vincent Van Duysen, who is known for his brutalist architectural style.
Where's the Stove?
The most striking feature of this condo is the stove, which is just four separate burners on a countertop.
And, unless we’re mistaken (and we hope we are), the ovens have been installed in the wall to the right of the sink.
For Sale at $3.5 Million
Brutalism is a very utilitarian, cold style of architectural design. The rather dystopian school of design thrived throughout the 1950s before its popularity waned in the 1970s.
Most brutalist designs are made with concrete and steel. This is a blend of brutalism and warmer materials, like wood ... but it's still cold.
At least there's one thing the two can agree on — they didn't want it post divorce. They put the condo on the market for $3.5 million in 2019.
Mother and Daughter, Side by Side
Location: Hidden Hills, California
Price: $37 million (for both properties)
Date purchased: 2020
Size: Over 10,000 sq. ft. each
Amenities: A ton of square footage, pools, and grandma's immediate availability for babysitting
Kris and Khloe's Matching Estates
The deets: Real estate purchases are never-ending for the Kardashian/Jenner clan.
Kris and Khloe have purchased land so they could live next to each other in Hidden Hills, where they have built their new homes from the ground up. Kris moved into her home in November 2021, but Khloe had been dragging her feet as of January 2022 due to her breakup with Tristian Thompson.
However, it looks like things have moved forward. She celebrated True's fourth birthday party in the home's lavish backyard in April 2022.
Bonus: The Fake KUWTK House
Location: Studio City, Los Angeles
Price: $5.25 million
Date sold: 2018
Size: 7,843 square feet
Amenities: Mediterranean-style estate that has been featured on a host of TV shows, including "Entourage," "American Horror Story," "True Blood," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and Victoria’s Secret advertisements
Not Where the Kardashians Actually Roamed
The deets: The Kardashians don’t own this one, but we’re adding it as a bonus.
Despite being featured in many Hollywood productions, no one wanted to live in Kris Jenner’s fake house shown in KUTWK.
This seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom house in Studio City is the one used in exterior shots on the Kardashians’ show, and it took 11 years to sell.
The house originally went on the market for $10 million in 2007 but sold for $5.25 million in 2018 after burning through 19 agents and nine brokerages.
