Your Dream Job, According to Your Horoscope
Picture it: your dream job. The one you know is out there and made just for you — but you can’t quite figure out what it entails yet. We lean on our astrology signs and justify lots of decisions based on our horoscopes, so why not turn to them for guidance when it comes to choosing a career?
Here are three dream jobs or career paths for each horoscope sign (though we know each sign can thrive in all kinds of different careers).
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Sign: Fire
Aries exudes bravery and confidence, meaning a traditional career might easily bore them.
And since Aries need to avoid boredom like the plague, they’ll benefit most from roles that ebb and flow in terms of busyness, schedule and even what to expect on a day-to-day basis.
Real Estate
Who better to help you buy or sell a home than the confident Aries? The fluency of a non-traditional schedule will help Aries to avoid that routine they so adamantly hate.
Plus, real estate can be a solid career with potential — much like the solid and resilient Aries.
Public Relations Manager
Depending on whom you work for or where, nothing is quite as transient-feeling as the world of public relations. PR and Aries make a great match because of the confident nature of this sign.
Something’s changed again and the client is asking for WHAT? Look no further than this qualified fire sign.
Marketing
In a similar vein to working in PR, marketing requires a certain amount of passion and gumption to succeed — and that’s a pretty good descriptor of an Aries, right?
Marketing yields lots of outlets for a creative genius to shine while also being part of a collaborative team that’s striving for a common goal.
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Sign: Earth
Very few signs crave the stability that a Taurus does. These homebodies want something that is consistent and gives them the chance to be with their pet or in their safe havens as much as possible.
This dependable sign makes for an incredible coworker who you can always lean on, too. Taurus career-seekers might consider anything that allows them to work from home or in a place where their bubble can be respected.
Baker
Baker’s hours aren’t for the faint of heart: But if you’re good with getting up well before the sun rises and being done with work by lunch, it could top your dream-job list, Taurus! This gives our favorite solo-riding sign some time to work with their hands and see instant gratification in the form of something delicious.
Most bakers can work independently, but your team is likely made up of folks who wanted something stable-yet-solitary as well.
Virtual Assistant
This sweet gig is one that you can do as a contractor, and you could easily become your own boss. A Taurus would thrive in a role like this one, as their natural attention to detail and ability to prioritize well can come in handy.
Virtual assistants are more in-demand than ever, and getting to do it all from the comfort of your safe haven is a perk worth considering.
Architect
For the more precise and science-inclined Taurus, becoming an architect could be a tangible way to express their creativity while being given guidelines and boundaries that could feel equally as important to them.
This job is one where you’re able to take something from the very beginning to its final stages, and this sign’s diligent nature means it will be done correctly the whole way through.
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Sign: Air
The vibrant and entertaining Gemini is not one to shy away from being the life of the party. Despite commanding attention everywhere they go, Geminis are used to it in a way that doesn’t make you hate them.
They’re well-suited to careers in which their energy and gregarious nature can be matched.
Flight Attendant
Geminis are incredible candidates to pursue a career as a flight attendant.
Not only would theirs be an entertaining flight to board, but Geminis in the sky will make sure your pre-flight safety demonstration is as educational as it is engaging.
Social Media Influencer
Call them content creators or call them influencers: All you need to know is that you should consider working for yourself in this way as a calling, Gemini.
This sign’s natural ability to be persuasive and likable means brands would be clamoring to work with you. #SwipeUp, are we right?
Event Planner
The life of the party knows what it takes to make a party a good one, and a Gemini would be a safe bet to hire as an event planner.
Everything from corporate events to weddings would be set in totally capable hands with this sign. Plus, this career would give the Gemini both the ability to help people and the credit that they crave in doing so.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Sign: Water
There’s a good chance your Kindergarten teacher was or is a Cancer. Those Miss Honey vibes don’t just manifest out of nowhere, after all, and the comforting nature of this natural nurturer is one that is ideal for teachers.
Cancers also find great satisfaction in roles that are flexible in terms of creativity.
Interior Designer
Who better to truly listen and know what someone wants in their home or business than a Cancer? This intuitive sign can likely figure out your style even if you couldn’t put it into words yourself.
Interior design is a totally client-focused role that would allow Cancers to feel needed and appreciated, all while giving them the creative outlet they oftentimes crave.
Teacher
Not that anyone is totally surprised by this, but Cancers make highly impactful teachers. Their ability to love others well is one that is imperative for someone who hopes to be a good educator.
A role in education is one that would enable this sign to become an expert in a topic they love if teaching in middle or high school, and it would let them be a child at heart when it comes to those smaller scholars in the lower grades.
Nutritionist
Nutritionists advise people on their health and diets and can forge many different career paths within this field. There are even animal nutritionists: Come on, Cancer.
You can’t resist knowing there’s an option to work with adorable animals that doesn’t involve medical procedures, right?! These folks help manage health and disease as well, and a Cancer would do this with empathy and grace.
Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Sign: Fire
The ever-conscious Leo is a natural-born leader. Despite occasionally questioning their ability to do so, Leos find that people gravitate towards them with minimal effort.
In the hands of the right person, this kind of power is nothing but a force of good for the world. A Leo would benefit from a role that allows them to exert those leadership skills without feeling like they’re pushing people.
Store Manager
With this sign being adept at leading the way, Leos should consider managing a store. Anything from owning one to running one would suit a Leo’s personality, due to their ability to lead with intention and not be annoying about it.
You typically won’t find these signs to be micromanagers, making it wonderful to work with and for them.
Event Planner
Like Geminis, Leos are likely to have tons of connections, and sometimes, throwing a good event is as much about who you know as what you know. Event planners have to be organized and prioritize well, and a Leo in the zone is the perfect candidate for this high-stress role.
With great risk comes great reward, though, meaning this sign will feel fulfilled from a job well done and a stellar party to boot.
Local Politician
Remember that whole “Leos have gravitas” thing?! We weren’t kidding. Becoming a local politician (think mayor, county commissioner and so on) would be a breeze for the likable-yet-diligent Leo.
They would enjoy getting to know folks in their town while listening to what they need and want from their elected officials.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Sign: Earth
The Virgo is a sympathetic soul who is eager to please but finds resolution, too. Ask your therapist their sign the next time you see them: We’d be surprised if they aren’t a Virgo.
Virgos are kind and practical empaths who have phenomenal bedside manners. This sign is just the one you’d want attending you in a medical or clinical setting. Virgos should consider something concrete that involves human interaction and emotion, too.
Nurse
Nursing is one of those jobs, much like teaching, where you must simply love what you do to stay in a field that is often pretty thankless. Fortunately for the Virgo, they know the importance of developing rapport and making everyone feel valued and heard.
This means a lot more “thank yous” than usual will be tossed around in any clinic where they find themselves. Virgos will easily become every patient’s favorite nurse!
Dentist
The dentist is frequently seen as a scary place (dental bills notwithstanding), and you, Virgo, are just the one to flip the script on that narrative.
Being a pediatric dentist feels like an excellent fit, but there are also plenty of adults who could use a little dental empathy from this compassionate sign.
Criminal Justice Worker
There are so many opportunities to serve others well in the criminal justice field. In every role from being a correctional officer to a private investigator or police officer, there’s something that will enable you to be able to help others in a meaningful way.
The natural balance of high emotions and finding resolution in a criminal justice career would suit Virgos perfectly.
Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Sign: Air
How many Libras do you know that will make friends and will win the argument or debate? Most of them are extremely persuasive and extroverted, meaning having a work bestie is not unusual for them — nor is having a “fill-in-the-blank” bestie or spouse wherever they go.
These folks are incredible advocates for themselves and others.
Personal Trainer
Personal trainer, personal cheerleader … same difference in the eyes of a Libra. This sign’s natural tendency to bring the best out of others could yield incredible results for those fitness and exercise clients.
If you’re an in-shape Libra, becoming a personal trainer is a track you should definitely sprint toward.
Probation Officer
While this might not sound like someone’s dream job, we can assure you that it is one that could make a massive difference for someone else. A probation officer is basically a fancy legal way to say “accountability partner,” and even though it’s not for something fun like doing enough reps at the gym and to instead deter a person from crime, it’s a truly worthwhile field to consider.
Libras are persuasive in a positive way and could be an amazing influence for others.
Career Counselor
While this is becoming a bit of a niche field with the advent of the internet and ample resources, there are still great outlets for a gregarious Libra to encourage others to get out there and find their dream jobs.
An energized Libra who would get excited alongside someone will outshine an app any day in our book.
Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Sign: Water
The most protective sign could easily be the Scorpio. Their curious and intuitive nature means they want to know what’s wrong with a situation or a person and how to fix it — now. (Or yesterday.)
They’re eager to safeguard the people and things they love.
Psychologist
Scorpios would make for fantastic candidates in the field of psychology.
They’re problem-solvers that are people-focused, meaning they would provide tons of good insight and advice to potential clients.
Childcare Worker
Everything from social work to daycare centers would make sense for this sign — so long as they’re a “kid” person.
They’d be just the person to encourage young and inquisitive minds to think for themselves and ask questions while caring for them all at once.
Law Enforcement Officer
With that protector mindset, Scorpios are natural-born securers of people and things they love. They do tend to have dominant personalities, so this role would be one that the self-aware and equitable Scorpio should consider.
Law enforcement could entail everything from policing to being a U.S. Marshal and would provide the sense of being needed that Scorpios love.
Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Sign: Fire
The freedom-loving and lighthearted Sag knows a thing or two about how to let loose: But do they need a career that mirrors that tendency to let their hair down? Not necessarily.
Sagittarius folks tend to do well in roles that give them some freedom to manage themselves, but they also like to be in a position to help others do better, too.
Social Worker
Social work extends much further than some folks realize: It’s everything from rehabilitation to adoption and more. Social work might seem like an odd choice for this sign, but who better to bring some simultaneous joy-and-structure to this field than a Sag?
Social work is a collaborative field but one in which you can also find yourself working independently at times, so it makes perfect sense for a Sagittarius in this way.
Lawyer
We all know a Sagittarius that argues for fun, right? While practicing law can be incredibly demanding, it’s also a field that gives this justice-minded sign an outlet to help make real change they’d want to see.
For the greatest impact, environmental law could be just the thing.
Entrepreneur
Most Sagittarians love ruling, so becoming their own boss and opening a business could be extremely beneficial. Entrepreneurs have an innovative and creative spirit but also know how to put the pedal to the metal when the time comes.
Sound familiar? It should, because it’s pretty spot on for how most Sagittarius people tend to be.
Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Sign: Earth
Capricorns know how to work hard, and while getting them to play hard can be a challenge, it’s because they’re mission-driven, focused and diligent.
These personality traits mean this sign is a natural leader who is both thoughtful and compassionate to boot.
Architect
There’s a complexity present in the field of architecture that a Capricorn might be really drawn to because it’s abstract and concrete all at once.
Capricorns can be thoughtful and tactical, which are invaluable skills for a career this precise.
Diplomat
The tact aspect of the architect role is also a major component of going into a diplomatic career.
Capricorns are disciplined and steady in a way that the job would demand. Plus, the role would provide an opportunity to lead in the quiet way that Capricorns appreciate.
Teacher
Being a teacher may not be quite as glamorous (or as well-paid) as the other two job choices for a Capricorn, but it’s one of the most impactful ways this sign can help guide others that we can imagine.
Teachers need to be sensitive, practical and organized — all of which are skills Capricorns possess.
Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
Sign: Air
Aquarians seem to gravitate towards a lot of different fields, but they don’t do well in situations where there aren’t clear guidelines or room for growth and improvement. An Aquarius needs to know they have some creative agency and will be trusted enough to do their work as a professional: Do not micromanage this sign.
For this self-reliant and optimistic sign, working in an office likely won’t do. Aquarius folks should consider less conventional jobs instead.
Private School Administrator
Education has lots of sectors in which other signs thrive, but a public school system can often feel limiting to an Aquarius. If they weren’t engaged and entertained themselves during their public school experience, they’re likely not heading back to a place that felt restrictive to them.
Enter the private school: whether you’re teaching at one or working in admissions at any level, there’s definitely more freedom to be found — just what the Aquarius needs.
Toxicologist
This is definitely a career out of left field for some, but it makes perfect sense for an Aquarius. Toxicology has three different career paths that would enable this sign to learn, grow and then conduct research on their own.
While toxicology often deals with finding harmful chemicals in the environment for animals and people, it can also feel very reminiscent of true crime when dealing with the fascinating nature of the deceased.
Mediator
A mediator is the go-between for others in conflict, and because an Aquarius is able to see many sides of an argument, their perspective can be a helpful one in this career field.
Aquarians typically avoid conflict where possible, but they can help settle matters and reach that lofty goal of world peace one session at a time in a role like this one.
Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Sign: Water
The abstract Pisces worker is another one who does not care for the boxes of convention. This creative soul needs independence and space to dream, meaning a 9-5 is probably not their bag.
While they’d likely succeed in any field, you’ll probably find them jotting down book ideas or doodling during a meeting rather than taking detailed notes. Pisces would do well to work for themselves or in a creative space.
Art Teacher
We think of Pisces teachers like the beloved Ms. Frizzle from the “Magic School Bus” — always up for an adventure and willing to ask for permission rather than forgiveness. This just screams art teacher, doesn’t it?
Though you likely won’t be going on any field trips in and out of someone’s nose, this is an excellent option for a Pisces who can’t stand the idea of doing the same thing with the same results every single day. School art rooms aren’t the place for tedium!
Author
Most people think of authors as a quirky and intellectual bunch — and it just so happens that those descriptors also fit the Pisces professional quite perfectly. Authors are notoriously eclectic, and despite sometimes struggling to meet a deadline, they’ll churn out some truly incredible work.
Pisces would love the solitude and creative expression this career path would bring.
Graphic Designer
Being a graphic designer typically means working in your own headspace with instructions, and we’re not sure a Pisces could ask for anything more. Pisces job seekers could easily look for work at any of their favorite stores or brands that need some oomph in the design department.
Pisces have great ideas that could easily help shape the next viral commercial or campaign.
